Look at all of these smiling faces

Jordan and Vegas, Kelsey and Diesel and Olivia and Fancy. Of course I had Tina stand in there with them. They each did a fantastic job this weekend at the Huntington Valley show in Paw Paw, Michigan.

It was hot, dusty and exhausting but these troopers pulled through and came away with several ribbons each. There were a lot of happy riders and proud parents on hand this weekend. Good luck Creekside gang... get some rest and on to the next show.

It was a very dusty show and very hard to get good photos. My good Nikon had issues figuring out what to focus on. I will post more photos on my photography site soon. I need to clean them up and tweak them to lessen the dusty atmosphere. Be patient.

Congratulations to Julie and Cleo!

Congratulations to Julie and Cleo from the Huntington Valley show this weekend. This was Cleo's first horse show ever. Julie took her into several flat classes and placed. We're proud of what she has accomplished and wish them both the best this season.

Julie also brought Deana again this year and placed in several of her jumping events. As always Deana looked great and Julie did a fantastic job.

Get some rest Julie... We're looking forward to the next show coming up fast.

Creekside 2nd Annual Speed and Action Show

The weather started out a bit rough but then opened up to a fairly pleasant afternoon. We had a lot of "rough riders" out there running the patterns in muddy conditions from all of the rain the night before. All in all everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and quite a few kids showed up to brave the weather.

Tina and I would like to thank the Liberty Twp. Horse and Pony club for taking care of the concession stand too. The food and service was fantastic. We would also like to thank Kathy (Tina's mom), John, Chris and Carolee Dalrymple (Tina's uncle, aunt and cousin), Kathy Wolff, Dee, Sidney and Tanner Haman, Dave and Clair Hamman, Tina and Julie Friedrich, Jordan and Kelsey, and so many other friends and family that have helped us put this event together.

We hope you will all join us again next year and bring friends. Have a fantastic summer!

NEW SUMMER CAMPS FOR KIDS!

We're going to do something new this year and have summer camps for kids.

Tina Prout and Angie Fowler will be teaching kids horse care, nutrition and riding instruction in a safe and clean environment. There will be games and arts and crafts as well.

You already know Tina but her good friend Angie will be helping as well. Angie is a dressage trainer and jumping instructor as well.

A week of summer camp will only cost $250 per child.

Our schedule is as follows...

Ages 6-9 ... June 8-12 from 1-5pm
Ages 10-14 ... July 13-17 or July 20-24 from 1-5pm

Please download our Summer Camp Registration Form and fill it out completely. Bring this with your deposit or mail it to the address on the form.

We only have a limited number of openings that will be filling fast. If you would like to register, please call or email us soon. Registration for camps need to be paid in full at least a week before camp begins. A deposit of $50 is required to reserve your spot per child and are NOT refundable.

The kids are going to have a blast this summer!

Anyone remember this hunter moment?

I combined a couple different photographs from a year or so ago to create this painting of a few of our friends at Creekside. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny morning at the Twin Cities Classic in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

Congratulations Colleen! ND Science Fair

We're very proud of Colleen. On Saturday, March 21 she took her science project to Notre Dame and presented it to 8 judges. She won a 3rd place for Junior division overall and then won a Bethel College scholarship for their 1st place Junior division. She will have part of her tuition paid for over a 4 year period if she attends Bethel College. They liked how passionate and knowledgeable she was with her subject... horses of course. They also liked that it was unique and not just out of a book.

I probably won't get this quite right but her subject was something like "how grooming effects a horse's heart rate". She concluded that it does calm them down and lower their heart rate after a vigorous workout. Compared to just walking them to cool them down.

Congratulations again Colleen! Mom and dad are so proud of her. And thanks to her grandmother Kathy for taking her to Notre Dame to participate this weekend.
